Privacy Policy
We collect the minimum needed to run accounts, personal alerts and billing. Here is exactly what that is, who handles it, and how to have it removed.
What we collect
- Account details — your email address, optional name, and password credentials, handled by Netlify Identity. We never see or store your password in plain text.
- Watches and preferences — the products, set codes, price ceilings, retailers, states, ZIP code, alert kinds, channels and quiet hours you choose.
- Discord user ID — only if you link your Discord account, so we can @mention you (and, on Pirate King, grant the member role). Unlinking removes it.
- Mobile phone number — only if you turn on text or phone-call alerts. We store it after you confirm it with a one-time code, together with the time you consented, and use it only to send the alerts you chose. Reply STOP to any text, or remove the number in Account → Preferences, to stop.
- Billing records — your Stripe customer ID, plan, subscription status, renewal date and invoice summaries (amount, status, receipt link). Payments are processed by Stripe; your card details never touch our servers.
- Delivery logs — which alerts were delivered to you, on which channel, and whether delivery succeeded, so you can see your history and we can prevent duplicates.
- Community sightings — what you submit (description, store, state, price, link). Sightings are shown publicly as unverified intel without your email.
- Fleet data — fleet membership, and event attendance plans you share with your fleet. Fleet owners can see the email addresses of their fleet members.
- Basic technical data — standard server and hosting logs (such as IP address and request time) kept by our host for security and reliability.
How we use it
- To run your account, match alerts to your watches and deliver them on the channels you choose.
- To manage your subscription, entitlements and receipts.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and enforce rate limits.
- To send service messages you’ve asked for (alerts, test alerts, password resets). We don’t send marketing email.
Who processes it
We use a small number of service providers, each only for its role:
- Netlify — hosting, database and account authentication (Netlify Identity).
- Stripe — payments, subscriptions, invoices and the billing portal.
- Resend — sending alert and test emails, when email delivery is enabled.
- Discord — channel posts and @mentions, if you link your account or join the server.
- Twilio — sending alert texts and phone calls, if you verify a phone number.
We do not sell or rent your personal data, and we don’t share it with advertisers. We may disclose information if required by law.
Cookies and local storage
- nf_jwt — a sign-in cookie set by Netlify Identity that keeps you logged in. It is required for accounts to work.
- Local storage — your browser stores dashboard preferences such as alert sound and notification settings (for example
gli.prefs,gli.armed). These never leave your device. - We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Retention
Account data is kept while your account exists. Personal delivery history shown in your account covers the last 30 days. Billing records are kept as long as needed for accounting and legal obligations. Stripe keeps its own records under its privacy policy.
Your choices and deletion requests
You can edit or delete watches and preferences, unlink Discord and cancel your subscription yourself from your Account. To get a copy of your data or delete your account entirely, contact us through Support from the email address on the account. We will confirm and complete the request within a reasonable time, except for records we must keep by law (such as billing records).
Depending on where you live (for example California), you may have additional rights to access, correct or delete personal information; contact us to exercise them.
Children
The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
We will update this page when our practices change and show the new date at the top. Material changes will be announced on the site.
